Steps of Purchasing Process:

Consumers needs to identify the need, what kind of camera they are looking and needing for. For example what kind of photography customer is going to do? In which conditions customer is photographing? Experience level? etc. These are better to ask before going to buy camera to give a better idea what kind of camera the customer is looking for, also with these questions in mind the customer service can be more of use.
Customers in camera industry are somewhat most leaning to Limited Decision Making buyer behavior (will be explained better in section 3.B), meaning that customers will start looking internal information and put average time effort to external information search, basically customers are well prepared of the knowledge of cameras. Major source of information for customers are friends, family, etc. and different kind of events where those relatives or friends has used their cameras, such as, holidays, weddings, etc.
In camera industry there is lots of alternatives for any kind of cameras. When customers are looking for internal or external information, then they are provided of the knowledge of the possible alternatives, for example, they like the quality of specific photo but not the brand or they think the price of the specific camera is high, then they start looking for possible alternatives.
Customers are willing to purchase little bit higher priced camera even if they wasn't first looking for that one. All depends of the basic knowledge they have before they come to the retail shop to purchase it (or internet), where customer service can provide better knowledge and options depending of the use and conditions customers are using the camera.
Customers post-purchase behavior depends what they have purchased, was it what they chose, was it what customer service proposal, etc. Usually customers are happy what they have bought (not immediately), since always customers think was it necessary or right decision, but in time they know that they made best possible deal (transformation from present to preferred status).
