Elements of a strong thesis
The thesis will answer a question.
A strong thesis takes a position that others could argue. It does not provide a summary ("Thesis Statements", 2016).
The thesis and essay go together.
How to create a strong introduction.
Think about the question you are trying to answer.
Try to write an introduction last ("Introductions", 2016).
Leave it for last so the introduction clearly supports what you are arguing.
If you need to start with writing the introduction, come back and revisit it after the essay is complete.
Add something catchy to draw readers in ("Introductions", 2016).
an example, quotation, or thought-provoking question.
Elements of a paragraph
To start a paragraph use a topic sentence.
The topic sentence tells you what the paragraph is about (University of New England, n.d.)
After the topic sentence, the paragraph has supporting sentences.
A concluding sentence wraps up the thoughts of the paragraph.
How to construct the body of the paper
Only include one point in each paragraph.
Make sure everything in a paragraph is clear to the reader.
Transitions should be included between paragraphs (Powerwrite, n.d.).
Examples are first, second, third.
What constitutes a good conclusion
A conclusion is your chance to to have the last word on the subject ("Conclusions", 2016).
The conclusion should make the reader glad they read your paper ("Conclusions", 2016)
Should return to the theme of the introduction
Do not repeat what was already stated.
Include a quotation.
