This QuickBooks Error 6177 appears when a user tries to open a company file. When this error occurs, an error message comes up which states that : “Quickbooks is attempting to open this company file”. This error message means that Quickbooks is not using the path to the company file. Quickbooks error code 6177 usually appears when you are using QB software in multi-user mode. To avoid this you have to reboot your system and the software to the latest version.
