Buying involves purchasing goods or services in order to use the product for your own purpose.
Renting involves buying land to set up your business and it does not matter what sector of business your in but you need somewhere to set up your business.
Selling involves someone purchasing your product and in return your earn cash, through this you earn a sales revenue which sometimes can be profit. The more you sell the more cash you earn NOT profit as you can incur high costs.
Investing means putting your money in something either a business, shares or property in order to make a profit, the more investments you make the higher chance you have of earning a profit however it depends on the market as when the demand is low you will expect a loss
