When you install your camera, you can connect it to the router’s 2.4GHz network band directly. Or, you may choose to connect the camera with wifi to an Arlo Smarthub model VMB5000 & VMB4540 or base station model VMB4500 & VMB4000. The Arlo SmartHub or base station doesn’t come inclusive in the Arlo camera package. You will need to purchase them separately. Using your Arlo camera with the SmartHub or Base Station installed will give you access to some additional features.
